Manchester United fans can breathe a sigh of relief—Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of the Red Devils, has reassured them that the club will not conduct a fire sale during the summer transfer window.
Despite financial struggles and disappointing investments, Manchester United is not looking to sell players to balance the books. The club recently laid off between 150 and 200 employees, but Ratcliffe insists that transfers will be made solely to strengthen the squad, not to generate funds.
Restructuring Instead of Selling
“No, no. We will not be selling players due to financial constraints,” Ratcliffe stated. “The club had become too big, so we have reduced staff and will finalize an efficient and streamlined organization.
That’s how we will manage costs. Every player decision will be made with the sole objective of improving performances. That’s it.”
Rather than offloading key assets, Manchester United aims to restructure and optimize resources, ensuring that future transfers align with their sporting ambitions.
