Is Mason Greenwood already heading toward the exit at Olympique de Marseille? After a brilliant start to the season, the English striker is now under fire.
Signed amid controversy, Greenwood quickly became a fan favorite at the Vélodrome. With 15 goals in 26 Ligue 1 matches, he enjoyed a strong start—but his performances have dipped in recent weeks.
De Zerbi unconvinced
According to La Provence, OM head coach Roberto De Zerbi is having doubts. He expects a much more complete contribution from his forward. “There have been far too many games where he thought scoring a penalty or providing an assist gave him the right to disappear defensively—that’s a huge mistake,” a teammate told the paper.
OM open to a summer sale
Greenwood has responded by returning to training early, aiming to win back his coach’s trust. The final two months of the season will be crucial.
If the 22-year-old fails to show he’s fully committed to De Zerbi’s long-term vision, OM could opt to part ways with him this summer.
