PSG Prioritizes Isak, but Arsenal Is Also in the Race.
Could PSG finally sign a true No. 9? This season, Luis Enrique has experimented with Dembélé and Doué as central strikers, but next season, he wants a top-class forward. Gonçalo Ramos could either be a backup—or be sold.
According to The Mirror, PSG and Arsenal are both targeting Alexander Isak, the Newcastle striker who has been in exceptional form in the Premier League.
Newcastle’s Champions League Ambitions Could Block the Move
Newcastle is fighting for a Champions League spot, making them reluctant to sell Isak. The Magpies have reportedly set a staggering €180 million price tag, which would make the Swedish striker the third-most expensive transfer in history.
While PSG has never hesitated to break records, as seen with Neymar and Mbappé in 2017, Newcastle’s UCL qualification could be a major obstacle.
However, if Newcastle fails to secure a Champions League spot, a lower fee could be negotiated. Still, both PSG and Arsenal are aware: signing Isak will come at a massive price.
