After months of negotiations, Mike Maignan (29 years old, 24 matches in Serie A this season) is set to extend his contract with AC Milan.
According to Relevo, the French goalkeeper has reached a full agreement with the club for a new deal running until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.
With this extension, Maignan’s salary will increase from €3.2 million to €5 million per season, plus various performance-based bonuses. A well-earned raise for a player who has become an essential pillar of the Rossoneri since his arrival in 2021.
Théo Hernandez Sacrificed to Revive AC Milan?
Struggling in Serie A (8th place) and eliminated in the Champions League play-offs by Feyenoord (0-1), AC Milan is searching for solutions to reignite its ambitions.
While Joao Felix, who arrived on loan this winter, wants to stay, Chelsea is demanding a return on its €50 million investment. To fund an extended loan with a purchase option until 2026, Milan could be forced to offload Théo Hernandez and Rafael Leao this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
A bold move that could reshape the future of the Italian club.
