Sergio Ramos is in hot water after his latest red card in Mexico, with reports suggesting he could face up to a 15-match suspension.
Since leaving Sevilla FC, Ramos has found a new home with Rayados de Monterrey in Liga MX. He had an impressive start, scoring 3 goals in 5 matches, but controversy erupted on Sunday night against Pumas UNAM.
The veteran defender was sent off for a violent kick on Guillermo Martinez—a reckless move that came after barely avoiding another red card earlier in the match for an elbow to a different opponent.
Could This Be the End for Ramos at Monterrey?
According to TV Azteca, Ramos could be banned for up to 15 matches, as per Liga MX regulations. Such a lengthy suspension would be a huge setback, both for Monterrey and for Ramos, who was beginning to regain form.
With the club now weighing their options, this situation might even push Ramos towards an early exit from Mexican football.
