Carlo Ancelotti is furious with La Liga’s scheduling and isn’t holding back.
After Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Villarreal, fueled by a Kylian Mbappé brace, the Italian coach lashed out at the tight scheduling imposed on his team.
The match was played just 66 hours after their grueling Champions League Round of 16 second-leg against Atlético Madrid (0-1, 4-2 on penalties).
Ancelotti’s Ultimatum to La Liga
The veteran coach, known for his calm demeanor, was visibly frustrated: “This is the last time we play a match with less than 72 hours of rest. We will never do it again. We asked La Liga twice to change the schedule, and nothing happened.”
Ancelotti even threatened to boycott any future matches under similar conditions, putting pressure on league officials to reconsider fixture scheduling for top clubs.
With Madrid chasing both La Liga and Champions League glory, tensions between the club and league organizers continue to escalate.
