Liverpool supporters refuse to return to Paris due to the chaos during the Champions League final.
The Parc des Princes is set to host a high-profile European clash between two in-form teams. As with every major event, the stadium is expected to be sold out.
However, a section of Liverpool supporters has decided to boycott the trip. The memories of the 2022 Champions League final at the Stade de France against Real Madrid remain fresh, leading some fans to avoid returning to Paris.
A City Still Haunted by 2022
“I will never set foot in that city again. I was stuck at the turnstiles, then caught in the chaos with gangs and the police after the match. I had never seen anything like it.”
“When the draw was announced, my heart sank. I felt sick at the thought of returning to Paris for a football match. I’m glad Paris 2024 went well, but I believe Olympic fans are treated differently than football supporters,” several Liverpool fans told Le Parisien.
Despite the significance of this match, the trauma of 2022 lingers, prompting many Reds fans to stay away from the French capital.
