Liverpool released its financial report for the 2023-2024 season this Friday, announcing a record commercial revenue of €373 million (£300M) but also a pre-tax loss of €69 million.
The club’s absence from the Champions League significantly impacted its finances, leading to a €40M drop in media revenues, despite overall revenue increasing to €743.5M. Administrative costs also surged by €46M, reaching €727M, mainly due to salaries and management expenses.
However, the opening of Anfield’s new stand, increasing stadium capacity to 61,000 seats, brought in an additional €27M in revenue. Liverpool’s CFO, Jenny Beacham, emphasized the need for financial sustainability and continuous revenue growth to maintain the club’s stability.
Currently leading the Premier League and competing in the Champions League, Liverpool expects significantly improved financial results for the 2024-2025 season.
