Saint-Maximin vs Mourinho: Tensions at Fenerbahçe Over the Forward’s Fitness
Allan Saint-Maximin found himself left out of Fenerbahçe’s squad for the match against Rangers, and he wasn’t happy about it. The winger took to Instagram to fire back at his coach, José Mourinho. “When a lie takes the elevator, the truth takes the stairs. It takes longer, but it always arrives.”
Mourinho’s Ironic Response
Never one to back down, Mourinho hit back with sarcasm: “I didn’t know Maxi was so good at poetry. He used a poem about life and stairs. I can do that too. All I can say is, when a player trains well, is fit, he can climb the stairs and doesn’t need an elevator.”
“He Gets Tired Quickly in the Stairs”
Mourinho doubled down on his criticism, suggesting Saint-Maximin’s fitness and discipline were lacking: “But if he doesn’t train well, arrives late, and is overweight, he needs an elevator—because he gets tired very quickly in the stairs.”
Saint-Maximin Fires Back With His Weight
Saint-Maximin didn’t let it slide and responded with another cryptic post: “A lie gives flowers, but it doesn’t bear fruit.”
He also shared his exact weight (82.4 kg), pointing out that he weighed 85 kg upon arrival and 84 kg at Newcastle.
Beyond this public war of words, Saint-Maximin’s departure from Fenerbahçe now seems inevitable. Communication between the player and coach appears completely broken.
