Carlo Ancelotti has decided to take control of penalty takers at Real Madrid after multiple misses in recent matches. The coach made it clear: from now on, only one player will be entrusted with this responsibility.
Ancelotti expressed his frustration after the team’s failure to convert three penalties this season. “It bothers me. I need to take responsibility for choosing who should take them,” he said over the weekend.
According to Cadena COPE, Ancelotti has now officially designated Vinicius Jr. as the sole penalty taker. The Brazilian winger, with 4 successful penalties out of 4 attempts this season, has proven to be the most reliable choice. In contrast, Kylian Mbappé has converted 3 out of 5, and Jude Bellingham has made just 1 out of 2.
This decision puts an end to the uncertainty and confusion surrounding penalty kicks at the club.
