Lens suffered a 2-0 defeat against Nice on Saturday in Ligue 1, with a lackluster performance that left head coach Will Still deeply frustrated.
The Anglo-Belgian coach did not hold back in his post-match press conference: “It was a no-show. We did nothing. Nothing was good. Individually and collectively, we were not at the level—we didn’t even exist. We need to move on quickly, get back to work, and push forward.”
“We Simply Weren’t Good Enough”
Still was particularly annoyed by how easily Lens allowed Nice to dominate: “When you give that many chances to a good team, they will punish you. We weren’t good enough, it’s as simple as that. I include myself in that. My suspension and absence from the bench didn’t help either,” he admitted.
“It happened once, but it must never happen again. We lower our heads, accept the defeat, and get back to work.”
With this harsh reality check, Lens will need to regroup quickly and find solutions to avoid repeating such a performance.
