Valentin Carboni’s Marseille adventure has come to a premature end. This Tuesday, Inter Milan officially announced the early termination of the young Argentine attacking midfielder’s loan, marking the end of his stint at Olympique de Marseille.
Arriving on loan from the Lombard club this summer, the 19-year-old only played four Ligue 1 matches this season before his progress was halted by a serious injury. Suffering a cruciate ligament sprain in early October, Carboni has been sidelined for several months and would not have been able to return to action with OM before the end of his loan.
His rehabilitation continues with a clear objective in mind: to be fit in time for the Club World Cup in June. In the meantime, the South American talent will carry on with his recovery work under the supervision of Inter Milan, his parent club.
This decision, expected for several weeks, allows OM to free up a spot in their squad and potentially strengthen during the winter transfer window. As for Carboni, he hopes to regain his rhythm quickly and resume his interrupted progression after this setback.
