Manchester City, struggling in the Premier League, is looking to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window, particularly in defense, and has set its sights on a player from RC Lens.

City’s management is exploring several options to bolster their squad this winter, with one of their top targets being Abdukodir Khusanov, a 20-year-old defender from RC Lens and the Uzbekistan national team. Khusanov has been impressing with his performances over recent months and has attracted interest from several European clubs. Manchester City could enter the race to sign him as early as January, though Lens has already received a €20 million offer from Leeds United. However, the French club may demand a significantly higher fee, as Khusanov is currently valued at €12 million.

A Potential Replacement for Marquinhos at PSG

“Manchester City has added Abdukodir Khusanov, central defender of RC Lens, to their January transfer list. Many top clubs are interested in this young defender, who is seen as one of the brightest talents in his position,” reported Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Paris Saint-Germain is also keeping an eye on Khusanov, as he is viewed as an ideal successor to Marquinhos. The PSG captain may be leaving the club in the coming months, with Saudi Arabia showing strong interest.
