Despite rumors about his potential departure, Marquinhos remains firmly committed to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Parisian captain, who recently extended his contract until 2028 in December 2023, states that his goal is to continue playing for PSG: “The future is always uncertain in football, but for now, my priority is PSG. I still have a lot to give and contribute to this team. We have important matches ahead, and I’m motivated to face them,” he said on Saturday.
Although indispensable to PSG since 2013, Marquinhos finds himself in talks with Saudi Arabian clubs, according to L’Équipe. After attempts this summer, Saudi clubs seem ready to renew their offer with enticing proposals.

Negotiations are still ongoing with his brother, who also acts as his agent. The Brazilian defender could be at a decisive point in his career, facing the choice between staying in Paris or embarking on a new adventure in Saudi Arabia.
PSG Prepares for Marquinhos’ Succession
In this context, Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly already identified a potential successor. The club is interested in Abdukodir Khusanov, a 20-year-old central defender from RC Lens, who could be integrated into the team to prepare for life after Marquinhos.
According to L’Équipe, Khusanov fits perfectly into the criteria sought by PSG: a young, dynamic player capable of adapting to coach Luis Enrique’s demands. Under contract with Lens until 2027, Khusanov is represented by Jorge Mendes, an agent close to PSG, which could facilitate future negotiations. PSG continues to closely monitor this prospect to strengthen their defense in the long term.
