FC Barcelona has secured Robert Lewandowski for another season, but the club has no plans to extend him further.
The 36-year-old Polish striker, initially under contract until June 2025, has triggered an automatic one-year extension after meeting the 50% match requirement since his arrival in 2022. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barça has refused to grant him an additional option until 2027, despite Lewandowski’s wishes.
A Future Without Lewandowski?
This decision signals that the club is not counting on him long-term. Instead, Barcelona is targeting Alexander Isak (Newcastle) for the summer, with the Swedish forward potentially competing with Lewandowski in his final season at the club.
