Viktor Gyökeres, the forward for Sporting Portugal, is now a sought-after target not only for PSG but also for Manchester United.
Initially, Ruben Amorim, the new Manchester United coach since November, had rejected the idea of signing Gyökeres, stating that he didn’t want to weaken his former club by recruiting their star attacker.
However, due to Manchester United’s struggles, Amorim has reportedly asked his club’s management to sign the Swedish forward during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to the Daily Mail. The question remains whether Manchester United will be able to pay Gyökeres’ release clause of €100 million.
Meanwhile, Barcelona, despite their financial difficulties, is also interested in signing the forward. The Catalan club is reportedly considering negotiating a €70 million transfer, with a loan deal that would see Gyökeres stay at Sporting for the 2025-2026 season.
