Florian Wirtz is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, but Bayer Leverkusen isn’t ready to let go just yet. The 21-year-old German international, author of an exceptional season (15 goals in 39 matches), is being courted by Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Leverkusen has made a new contract offer, extending Wirtz’s deal until 2028, with an option for 2029. Crucially, it includes a release clause that would only be active starting in June 2026.
If a transfer were to happen this summer, the club has set a sky-high asking price: €120 million, excluding bonuses. That fee could scare off Real Madrid, who are known to be cautious in the market, while Manchester City might be more willing to meet the demand.
Wirtz is expected to make a decision soon. Whether he extends his stay in Germany or joins a European giant, his choice will be a turning point in his young but already glittering career.
