Hakimi Turns Down Real Madrid to Extend at PSG! The Moroccan Commits to Paris for the Long Term.
Real Madrid received a firm rejection. Despite the presence of his close friend Kylian Mbappé, Achraf Hakimi chose not to return to Madrid. The Spanish club attempted to sign him last summer to replace the injured Dani Carvajal, but Hakimi opted instead to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2029, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Before their 4-1 victory over Monaco, PSG announced seven contract extensions, including Vitinha (2029), Nuno Mendes (2030), and coach Luis Enrique (2027). However, Hakimi’s renewal stood out, especially as rumors linked him with a return to Real Madrid alongside Mbappé.
When asked about his decision, the Moroccan full-back explained: “The first thing is the club’s ambitious project. Then, there’s the style of play the coach implements, which I really enjoy! There are still many goals I want to achieve with Paris Saint-Germain.”
