Manchester United Considering a Move to Bring Harry Kane Back to the Premier League?
Manchester United is reportedly eyeing a sensational return for Harry Kane, just a year after his move to Bayern Munich. According to Graeme Bailey and TBR Football, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS had already identified the English striker as their dream signing when they took over the club in 2023.
Kane, a Longstanding Dream for United
During the summer of 2023, Manchester United attempted to sign Kane, but the England captain ultimately chose Bayern Munich. In response, the Red Devils signed Rasmus Højlund and, a year later, Joshua Zirkzee, two strikers who have struggled to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.
Currently, United is struggling in the Premier League (sitting 13th with an underwhelming record), while Kane continues to shine in Germany with 55 goals in 50 Bundesliga appearances.
A Release Clause That Could Change Everything
Kane’s contract at Bayern includes a gradually decreasing release clause:
- £65 million in January 2024,
- £54 million in January 2025.
This presents a significant opportunity for a return to England. Tottenham holds a first-option buy-back clause, but Kane is reportedly not interested in joining a London rival such as Arsenal or Chelsea.
A Premier League Return to Cement His Legacy?
While Kane remains committed to Bayern Munich, he has never hidden his ambition to become the Premier League’s all-time top scorer. With 213 goals in 320 appearances, he is 48 goals away from surpassing Alan Shearer’s record (260 goals).
Whether he returns to England in a Tottenham or Manchester United shirt, it would be a historic move. The question remains: Will United make a move to secure one of the world’s best strikers?
