FC Barcelona is preparing for sales to replenish its finances: 3 players are up for sale this winter.
As the winter transfer window approaches, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made crucial decisions to stabilize the club’s finances. According to Sport, the president has chosen to put several players on the transfer market in order to raise the funds necessary to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, while maintaining the team’s sporting ambitions.
Among the players involved are Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati, and Andreas Christensen, although their departures are not yet guaranteed.
Eric Garcia is attracting interest from several European clubs, particularly in Spain. Ansu Fati, however, will be harder to sell due to his frequent injuries. Lastly, Andreas Christensen has expressed his desire not to leave, meaning Barcelona will need to be convincing to make a deal happen.
But that’s not all. Frenkie de Jong could also leave, but it’s unlikely that the midfielder will depart this winter. However, a move next summer seems more probable.
All of these moves are necessary to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, who are currently unavailable. These two players, originally registered until December 31, 2024, can no longer be used due to the club’s financial situation. Selling the aforementioned players would be a first step toward resolving this issue, but it appears Barcelona still has work to do in order to regain financial stability.
